Daniel Chapter One

I'm not posting the entire chapter, but you can read it here.

My thoughts on this chapter:

How did Daniel get to the place that God could use him to interpret dreams for the king?

1.He purposed in his heart to follow God. This was after he was captured by a nation that destroyed his homeland and home life. He didn't let them destroy his faith in God. We need to purpose in our hearts to follow God-no matter what.

2.He was looked on in "favour and tender love" by the guy in charge. This tells me that Daniel conducted himself well and was genuinely friendly and a nice chap. Love is a sign of a true Christian (fruit of the Spirit).

3.Daniel did what he could to follow God in the little things that came his way (food) and left the consequences to God.

Results:
God gave him knowledge, skill in all learning and wisdom and understanding in all visions and dreams. What knowledge, skills, and gifts has God given you? What are you doing now? Maybe you've missed a step or two. Often, we have to repeat the lessons we so quickly forget. Is this a formula? No, but a very good example of how to please God and how to get in line with His will and plan for your life-how to be used of God.
